Hadestown: TEEN Edition
Hadestown: Teen Edition summarizes Anaïs Mitchell's Tony Award-winning folk opera by retelling the ancient Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice and Hades and Persephone through a modern, jazz-influenced lens, set in an industrial underworld. The story follows the young dreamer Orpheus, who tries to rescue his beloved Eurydice from the clutches of Hades, the ruler of Hadestown, a factory town offering false promises of security. The production explores themes of love, hope, sacrifice, and the resilience of the human spirit against a backdrop of industry versus nature, doubt versus faith, and fear versus love.
